Mission Accomplished!
Bob Schroeder’s & Mike Bayly’s Barnabas Ministry visit to the Philippines
Bob & Mike (from Hope Alive Church - Kansas) give thanks to God for His blessings on their ministry, and for His protection over them in their travels during this violent election time. They report:-

With Pastor Gloria’s Group of Churches Maranding, Mindanao,
“We spent a weekend in Maranding and were able to preach in 3 churches – the anointing of the Holy Spirit was present and we had some blessed meetings.
Our main purpose of this trip was to hold Seminars on Public speaking. Mike is President of Bayly Presentations and he was able to use his skills to train the Pastors and leaders on speaking techniques. Both seminars were very timely and very well received.”
Mike adds – “God’s presence here is so powerful.  I know God’s purpose in my starting my training business. This has been such a blessing to so many people to enable God’s word to be preached more powerfully. Praise Him!”

With CDO Medical Lifeline
“Mike and I met with the CDO Lifeline team in Dr Reuben Sedigo’s home. We had the usual ‘pig roast’ feast and a time of fellowship. It was good to see new members of the team consisting of additional doctors and a dentist, which has helped keep the numbers around 50 per mission (Jiji’s father and another team member have had a stroke). As expected the purchase of the bus has significantly reduced the cost of each trip. Another new development is the provision of medicines from an organization in Florida.”
With Pastor Roderick and ACJM Church in Manila.
“We had six days with Pastor Roderick and had a very blessed time. The public speaking seminar was held on Wednesday and Thursday nights.”
Mike adds – “A very powerful evangelistic outreach this afternoon (Friday) to a group of poor people – about 120, up in the mountains near Manila. Bob’s message brought over 80 souls to Christ. Praise the Lord! Blistering heat, around 100F and high humidity, so it was nice to get back eventually to the hotel and shower and cool down.”
Bob adds – “We fed these poor people with a noodles dinner and gave away groceries, together with toys and clothing that had been sent from New life Church, Southampton, England. At ACJM we were able to minister to the youth (Saturday) – a very powerful meeting. On Sunday morning we spoke at the ACJM church service. Everything is well at ACJM, the Church is progressing – numbers were larger than I had seen on previous visits.”

The foundations are being laid, for the prayer mountain centre, see the pictures on the web.

Plans & Costing Approved for the Prayer Mountain Centre

Together with Pastor Gloria, Bob & Mike met with the Christian Architect, and finalised the plans and costing for the Prayer Mountain Centre.
What an exciting moment this is.
Two years ago, with Pastor Gloria we began to declare our vision for a ‘prayer mountain’ site and centre. Fifteen months ago we were able to buy 12 acres of land on a suitable mountain.  Since then the site has be planted with trees for fruit; crops for food, houses for widows, huts for goats and other more native style buildings have been erected for youth events etc.

Last week - our partners in Mindanao met together as part of “LGN-Barnabas Ministry for Mindanao and beyond Network” (the legal NGO under Philippine law), and launched phase one of the building project. Although that area of the Philippines is very poverty stricken, the churches and leaders there are working and praying hard to see this building project completed.

Next week – we will be transferring £4000 to the bank in Mindanao. The whole project will cost between  £16,000 and £20,000.  I am amazed how God keeps providing the funds for all that we are involved in the Philippines. We will need to see the Lord supply another £8/10,000.

Bob emailed from the Philippines – “This is an excellent development and will make the site suitable for meetings and seminars for churches in the whole region.”

Thanks for visiting our web site!
As ou can see our monthly Praise & Prayer Reports are now added. These may differ slightly from the email reports, because of a need to be sensitive over some news. We have also added a “Be Encouraged” page, which is in the form of a blog.

Some people are finding it difficult to open the monthly email attachment report. To ease this problem we have cut out most pictures. You can view the relevant pictures at http://picasaweb.google.com/antiochjim/LatestPictures
If you still have problems then we are very happy to send you a printed copy through the post.

MAY 2007

“He rules for ever by His power,
His eyes watch the nations.”

Psalm 66:7

Please pray for the Philippine nation during their national and local elections this month.
Politics is very corrupt; there has already been violence and murders in some areas among the candidates for local government. This violence is worse in Mindanao, where the Muslim extremists use it as an opportunity to stir up the Muslim population for aspirations for a Muslim homeland.
In Psalm 67:1-2, the Psalmists takes the great “priestly blessing” of Numbers 6 and uses it towards the nations –
“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us,
that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.”

Please, also pray for Bob Schroeder and Mike Bayly, two of our Barnabas Team on mission in the Philippines during this dangerous election period.

They are members of Hope Alive Church Center, Kansas, whose Pastor Danny Brown, accompanied Bob on a previous mission.
Bob is a retired company vice chairman, and Mike runs his own company in ‘presentational skills training’.

Their itinery is:-
Arrive in Manila from USA on Friday 11th May, and then fly on to Mindanao, Southern Philippines.

With pastor Gloria for the weekend (12th & 13th). During this time  they will be – speaking in the church at Maranding – conducting
seminars with the Bible School Students – in discussion with the architect regarding the plans for the  “Prayer Centre” to be built on the Prayer Mountain.

With the CDO Medical Mission in Cagyan D’Ora for 14th & 15th. Hearing about  the plans for this years Medical Missions and discussing the financing.

With Pastor Roderick in Manila from 16th to 19th – preaching, conducting seminars and involved in a special youth event.

More Praise & Prayer Reports
Dear Ptr. Jim and Evelyn,
Greetings in Christ Jesus!
Our depository bank notified us that some amount of money just came in and I really presume it came from you, thank you very much. Thank you also for including us always in your prayers, we really need it.  We just had another medical mission in a town just nearby and we were able to treat five hundred six (506) patients.

For this month of  May, we will have one in Bukidnon. We hope to reach out to the Higaonon tribe.  Everything is fine here except for some reported political killings which really do not affect our "work" for the Lord.  I am happy to inform you that we have two new medical doctors and a dentist who joined us just recently.  We are looking forward to meeting you again this October again.

Thank you very much for your support.  May God continue to bless us all.
Jiji – CDO Lifeline Ministries

Dear Pastor Jim and ‘Ate’ Evelyn
Thank you for the prayer covering. I really sensed in my spirit an anointing and the Lord has been empowering us to be spiritually, technically and systematically enabled. The Sunday meetings are blessed with HIS presence. Those who were against me, before, are now my friends.

The widows and orphans are so encouraged, specially  when we gave the clothing from the boxes. Thank you so much. In the meeting with the widows we were able to help 4 of them with an amount to repair their huts. We gave Bebing Dela Pena a female goat. We also gave her vitamins to be strong. By the way – in April we were able to baptise 25 souls from Simpak and Maranding.

This month Aurora will be baptising too. Thank you …. Yes we will do our part as Mindanawans for the Prayer Mountain. The widows, the church, the pastors and my family are all praying for you, because of the great encouragement for us here. They feel agape.
For His vision,  Gloria.

Finally:
Please pray for us as we begin to plan for our ministry trip to the Philippines for the whole month of October. In our June Praise and Prayer Report, we will share some news on others who are joining us on this mission.

APRIL 2007

“Co-operation and Partnership is God’s Way of Building His Kingdom, and Strengthening His Workers”
Apostle Paul writes –

  • “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. ….. For we are God’s fellow workers. (1 Cor.3:6-9)
  • “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains.” (Colossians 4:2-3)

PRAYER FOCUS FOR APRIL
Apostolic Church of Jesus the Messiah and Barnabas Ministry – Working Together

Pastor Roderick writes –
Last Sunday was great and fantastic. The 7th year thanksgiving anniversary celebration went very well, and Friday was a really blessed day, seeing the children finish the school year and graduate in our ACJM Learning Centre.

We have just concluded our week long corporate intercessory prayer. It culminated yesterday in prayer and fasting. After that we had a heart to heart talk with the Leadership Team, here are some of our conclusions:-

ACJM/Barnabas Learning Centre – We Praise and thank God for the progress that Sister Josie has made in the last last three months. We have an interesting number of children and parents desiring to enrol next school year. She has touched two muslim families through the pre-school. ……

Our target figure next school year is 20 students session – we have two sessions per day.

ACJM Summer School of Ministry – for the training and equipping of new disciples for the work of ministry. We will hold a special school through April and May for ACJM Workers and New Disciples. Teaching them to grow in God, to learn to hear His voice, to be grounded in sound doctrine and be filled with the Spirit. Please take this as a special prayer concern with all Barnabas partners. Bros Bob and Mike Bailey may be able see this Summer School and share with the students when they come in May.

Bro. Jay -  is ok and very interested with the idea of enrolling in an ‘online’ special ministry training course

The Tesalona Family – are very blessed.  We will be in Mindanau on a ministry trip from the 15th April and will be visiting Pastor Gloria’s Churches and will have an opportunity to give her the 2 boxes of clothes etc sent from Pastors Paul and Julia’s church in Southampton”.

Pastor Peter Maine – North Heath Family Church Erith – writes to Pastor Roderick:-
“”I spoke to Pstr. Jim this morning about sending a gift of £730 that was donated as a result of my father’s funeral. It is customary in the UK to suggest making a donation to charity rather than using the money on expensive flowers. My mother requested that the money should be used for the Philippines as you were so close to my father’s heart. We would particularly like to designate the money for humanitarian work in Manila. This can be for clothing, food, medical or education as the needs arise. Can you please continue to send photos showing your work in this area as it encourages prayer and release of more finance.”

Other Praise and Pray Items:-

  • The following Students have completed their courses under Pastor Gloria’s ‘Fastrack ‘ training programme, and will receive their commissioning in April.:-

Thank you to all who have supported the cost of training these students. Please continue to earnestly pray for them as they will now be going into tribal and un-reached gospel areas to start cell churches.

  • Pastor Gloria has asked us to pray for a further 11 Pastors of the satellite churches who will continue their training every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Jiji Sediga of the Cdo Lifeline Medical Missions – writes;-

“To God be the glory!! The money you sent just came in on time when we are almost broke. Yes I am truly pleased to hear from you. Bob and I communicate regularly to update him of our monthly missions.
I am not sure if you have heard about our new supporter. It’s the ‘Ministry to the Poor’. They have provided us with some medicines.
We had our last mission in Zamboanga del Norte, about ten hours ride from Cagayan..
We are looking forward  to your coming this October. Thank you for your support.
